Hi Nancy,

That is amazing! I feel honored you're having "Right Here, Right Now" at your daughter's wedding. Amazing your whole family is playing it together. Wow! Can you please post a video on Facebook and Youtube, so I can see it? That would be wonderful, if you could!

Have a wonderful wedding and I send love to you guys!

Q

Loved your interview on Rock Chicks; we have something in common, my grandmother was an opera singer in training, & a piano teacher, my wife teaches piano.) Is "I could love you still" coming on CD?

Hi Martin, Wow! That's wonderful that your grandmother was an opera singer in training and a piano teacher, and your wife teaches piano. Music runs in your blood too. Beautiful! Yes, we're working on "I Could Love You Still" now. That's the recording Steve Cropper and Paul Shaffer just played on. Stay tuned for more info on it soon!!!

Q

Which do you find most rewarding. Writting or preforming? If it's writting , which do you find tougher, lyrics or music?

Sheri Miller responded on 08/15/2011
A

Hi Joel,
To be totally honest, I love them both for different reasons. Writing feels so natural, and feels magical to me. I feel like a large mercury lead pipe sometimes, like a channel into the collective unconscious. Sometimes songs come so fast, it's almost like they've been written forever in the stars, and we're just the scribes. It's rare, but rewarding when it happens.

Performing has a thrill all its own. You must live in the moment, be in the now. You can alter or change the course of performance in one second. Time bends and stretches. There is no time, during performance. I love that. It feels Einstein-ian and poetic all at once. You connect to people in the audience and also onstage in your band, and feel their energy exchanging with yours. It's a beautiful exchange of love and passion, through a language universal.

Q

With all of the media choices to hear and discover music nowadays, do you have a favorite record/cd store that you like to visit, or do you surf a lot of bands sites and links ?

I used to love going to Tower Records and Amoeba music as a kid. Nowadays, I love to surf on the internet, and I love hearing new bands, artists and new music. There's alot of great new music out there. Though I must admit I'm partial to old school blues, jazz and old soul. And I do love me a good helping of The Beatles and Stones. Do you have a favorite site or record store?

Q

You're really into old world culture! Have you been to London, Paris, Vienna, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Oslo, Frankfurt, Copenhagen, etc.?

Hi Martin,
Yes, you're absolutely right. I love old world culture. I adore learning where things are from, and the ghosts that once inhabited them. I've been to London, Paris, Amsterdam from that list. I haven't seen Vienna, Stockholm, Oslo, Frankfurt or Copenhagen. I imagine they're gorgeous, majestic cities. Talk about ghosts, I bet there's quite a few in those cites. Have you ever been to these places?

Q

Looking back upon other questions asked...what size of a tour bus do you need? With your music seeming so personal and intimate, do you prefer small, medium or larger venues?
Love your music

Hi Larry, I'd be glad to have any tour bus with good ventilation (you can imagine), comfortable seats, no gas leaks and good hydraulics. Flat screen TV's, rooftop swimming pools, and Godiva chocolates never hurt either ;) Venue wise, I love them all. In a way, I especially enjoy the energy of larger venues, as it feels pretty electric.

Love you too!

Q

I would like to purchase the sheet music for "Right here, right now" for my daughters wedding song. How can I go about doing that? Nancy

Hi Larry!
Wonderful to hear from you. I'd suggest you start by reading as many books as you can about songwriting as possible! Go for it! And just starting to write! Doing it every day! I applaud your creativity!

with love,
